Lauren Francis Tutoring is based in Colchester, Essex. However, an online tutoring services are also available, via Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

About
Lauren Francis has been working as a private tutor for children, teenagers and adults since 2011, teaching maths, English and law at a range of levels for different purposes.
Lauren has worked as a classroom teacher for language courses in general English, academic English and IELTS courses for teenagers and adults preparing for university or for life in the UK.
Lauren also has experience working within a school environment in a private capacity, assisting students in special circumstances that require one-to-one attention.
Lauren graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in law in 2011. She has worked as a musician, composing and performing professionally for over fifteen years. Lauren's approach to teaching focuses on encouraging students to feel engaged and excited about learning. Having highly developed artistic and academic skills enables her to be creative with ideas and methods, in order to appeal to the learning styles of individual students.
Approach
One-to-one tuition gives students the opportunity to engage with their own preferred style of learning, developing at their own pace and exploring their potential in an environment that is comfortable and supportive of their personal needs.
Small groups and pairs offer students the opportunity to consolidate their learning by assisting their peers in a co-operative and positive shared environment.

GROUP SESSIONS
From £25 per hour
During group sessions, students encourage and support one another in an environment designed to challenge and inspire them. Group sizes are small enough to ensure that individual needs are recognised and provided for.
Group sessions run during term time only. During the school holidays, there is an opportunity for grouped students to have one-to-one sessions if required, to give them extra support.

ONE-TO-ONE
From £25 per hour
One-to-one tutoring enables the tutor to engage with the student's personal style of learning. It allows materials to be adapted and is especially suitable for students with very specific personal targets, or who have particular problems which are preventing them from reaching their potential.
Students who are especially struggling with their confidence may also find that one-to-one sessions are more beneficial for them.

These sessions can be very useful for students from further afield. It is also possible for online sessions to be provided whenever a student is unable to attend a session in person.

Anna Denney
Anna started tutoring while completing her accountancy qualification and quickly found her passion for teaching. She has been tutoring for different organisations ever since and is able to build strong working relationships with all students. She has a calm and methodical approach to teaching and this especially appeals to quieter or nervous students.

Grace Brumpton
Since 2020, Grace has been supporting the academic progress of students from Reception to Key Stage Four, both in group and one-to-one settings. She is well-practised in teaching maths and English at a variety of levels and has experience improving handwriting and phonetic recognition, as well as leading 11+ courses. Having achieved a First-class degree in Art History, Grace’s strengths lie particularly in her written and analytical abilities, which she enjoys utilising when refining students’ English skills.
